How To Make Hip-Hop Beats Easily
It’s becoming a trend for people to make hip-hop beats from the comfort of their own homes. Everyone wants to produce a CD in their basement and be discovered.
They’ll call themselves ‘young struggling artists’, pull on the heartstrings of Americans by telling a touching rags-to-riches story. Then they’ll go down in music history as one of the greatest musicians of their time.
Well, I’m sorry to pop anyone’s delusional little bubble, but there are easier ways to create hip-hop beats than starving in a basement studio and waiting for a break.
Say, for example, that you decided to pick up a computer program like Dub Turbo to help in your dream of being able to make beats. After learning how to work the interface, which is pretty easy to do, you’d then be able to start choosing your own style of music by combining and mixing the number of different applications available in that software.
Already your goal to create hip-hop beats is being partially reached.
Your next step would be to lay your tracks. Once you’ve done that, you can clean, cut, and analyze the individual beats and melodies that will be going on all you want.
Don’t make things more complicated than they have to be when you make beats. Half of your battle will include learning how to listen all over again, since the process of being able to make hip-hop beats includes being able to tell the difference between ‘listening’ to music and ‘hearing’ it.
If at any point you find yourself lost, no worries.
Being able to create beats is supposed to be easy but it’s also supposed to be fun. When you make hip-hop beats, you aren’t doing calculus, even though it may feel that way when you’re trying to work through all the notes and beat counts that will soon make their presence known on your music sheets.
Hip-hop isn’t an exact science. Everyone has their own style, and once you’re able to keep that in mind when you sit down to make beats, then you’ll be successful at whatever attempt you make.
Whether you’ll be good is another matter entirely.
