Basics to Play Piano
Piano is an interesting and well known musical instrument having countless fans who love to play it. Therefore, we must start from very basics, and then work out to the more advanced skills of playing it.
Learning and implementing your knowledge makes you effective in anything you do. Your sitting posture is really an important thing and should be given prime importance. The most important thing is to sit down correctly on the piano seat. Adjust the seat in a way that it should be at the middle, and in front of your piano. Make sure that your position is correct and easy for you to play piano. You should not slouch, and try your best to sit straight.
Having a correct pasture is of extreme importance. Sitting posture helps mind and body to play piano properly and in a good manner. Keep in mind, sitting continuously for some hours in front of piano can cause pain in your back; therefore you must take short breaks when learning to play piano as you take when working on your computer.
Stretch out your back, and after doing it sit straight. This activity would prevent you from back pain problem, and would not distract your mind to any other thing.
While sitting in front of your piano, your elbows should be roughly by your sides, and extend out your hands so that they lay down naturally on piano keyboard. Your sitting position should be similar to sitting in front of your computer and typing on a keyboard. The importance of a correct sitting posture should be clear in your mind now as I have given enough stress on it to clear its importance.
You might feel tiredness when learning to play piano for the first time, so try to relax your mind and shoulders, and play some piano keys to listen different sounds. Different keys play different notes. Piano notes go from A to G, and the combination of these notes (A to G) is called octave. You will realize that these Octaves repeat up and down the piano.
The piano keyboard has white keys as well as black keys. Black keys are the sharps & flats and white keys are just the standard version of the notes. Now, start learning the position of different notes. The first key you should notice is the middle C. You can find the middle C in the center of your piano. It is a white key that is normally located at dead center. There ought to be two black keys on its right and three black keys on the left side of middle C.
